Don't tell me some cut and run answer such as "god wants discipline from everyone" - clearly these three religions discuss female inferiority more than male, and female discipline/order/fear more than men - why?

These things did not occur in any religion untill it formed among society and the religions bent to societies way so that people would continue fallowing them. Men needed the control because everyone likes control. It is seen with slavery, scape goats, and the unfair treatment of women.

At least for Christianity such oppression comes from a misunderstanding and a misinterpretation of scripture. If you would like a fairly comprehensive, spirit-led, and interesting sermon on this controversial topic I would highly recommend going to the following website:

http://www.cground.org/CGCC_Public/News/Sermons/NewKingdom/

And then downloading the following sermon:

05/29/2005
Submission
Eph. 5:21-33
Jeff Krajewski
download

Common Ground Church is my church and it is non-denominational with contemporary worship, but with completely scripture-based sermons. And although Pastor Jeff is certainly not the preeminent authority on the Word, the Lord has really used him to illuminate the truth of the Bible for me and for many others, without watering it down.

Rather than just discussing how we have perverted God's intention throughout the ages, I believe that this particular sermon can help you to understand much more fully what the Bible says about Christian men and women and their relationship with one another, whether or not you agree that the Bible is true.

The sermon is just under one hour long.

Sorry, but in Christianity, you are mistaken. In the Old Testament, the role of women in the Bible were actually better than the current culture. In the New Testament, you should check out Ephesians 5:22-33. Many only read the first two verses, however the remaining eight instruct men on how to treat their wives as themselves (and in some ways even better). In no way, shape, or form, does the Bible demean women.

God created men and women to work together in harmony to raise their family.

I can only speak for Christianity, you completely misunderstand.

first of course men and women are different, from normal muscle strenght to the size of several of the organs.
They were both deisgned by God for thier specific roles in life.

If you read properly you will see that while the man is the head of the household, if the husband also loves the wife as hisself and also as Christ loves the church, you are not going to mistreat them either.

As a couple, the man and wife are to stop being seperate but work as a team together, each with thier special skills.

Eph 5:21Man and woman were created equal, Jesus displayed submission very well and both men and women need to submit to one another in the fear of God. It also says in the bible that if a husband does not honor his wife his prayers are hindered 1 peter 3:7. The husband is suppose to care and treat his wife like his own body.Eph 5;28

Each of those religions were based on teachings sent by God that were appropriate for the time and level of spiritual evolution that humans had achieved at that time. Most religions are correct, but some of their teachings may be outdated. This is Progressive Revelation

"Women and men have been and will always be equal in the sight of God." - Baha'u'llah

Way back when men felt that god wanted this but now that women are as smart as the men they feel scared that the women are going to take over all of their positions in society.Back then they thought the bible was written by men and women had no say in it.

Fear women NO, wish to assert the natural dominance of man as an ideaology, YES.

An average man is stronger and if there was no society would carry a club and get his woman by the back of her hair. Religion dates back to this time and just reiterates what is found in the wild and in natural human nature.

IT has nothing to do with fear its that God set up the family as the man as the head and woman his help mate. Men and women are equally important to God and He makes rules for both.

What is there to fear?? Fear that they will do what/?/
Any married man knows better than to try and control his wife!!
There are different roles for men and women. God expects us to fulfill them if we are his.. People on the earth can do almost anything they want. You are not required to go to any of the above religions..
