Go to your doctor. she will not tell your family or anyone else. She could possibly give you samples of antideppressants, but they are usually inexpensive. Don't let it go too long without talking to someone. With the right help you won't believe the difference, and feel like a new person. Good luck

plehderacs,
I would suggest an herbal remedy called 5-HTP and a book. The herbal remedy would probably run about $8 a month and the workbook is under $15 dollars. The book might make it possible to only take the herbal remedy for a short time. It is very effective. If you are interested drop me a line.
God bless.
Did you know that your name is “scaredhelp” spelled backwards? You probably get that a lot, but I just thought it would mention it.

you shouldnt keep it low key or on the down low.... it may cause the depression to get worse... so talk to a family member... take it from someone that was depressed and want to keep family out of it at one time...

No matter how hard this thing I'm about to tell you becomes, do it.
Take your first thought, after deciding to help yourself, and find all the things to verbalize your thanks. i.e. thank you for this day, thank you for this box of tissues, thank you for this song, thank you for these really intense feelings. Continue to give thanks for everything that you are glad to have. I'm talking everything. i.e. thank you for this phone, thank you for not having a phone etc. You will begin to move from the material things to the spiritual things and when you start becoming aware of the fact, that in spite of all that you are perceiving, that you are special to someone, something, somehow, by the sheer fact you are on the receiving end of a great many blessings. Your world will not seem so bleak and hopeless then. Very cost effective, and your family will notice, but in a good way. Tell them thanks too.

1. Aerobic Exercise, 12 - 20 min per day
2. Meditation 10 - 30 minutes per day
3. Talk with friends/family/somebody close
(By the way, this means voice or face to face, not IM'ing.)
4. Help someone in need.
