YES..Of course you can. I have traveled by plane more times than I can count and before the invent of iPods I used to bring a slew of batteries for all of my electronics. The only thing that could cause a problem is if they are loose throughout your carry-on and are not easily accesible. This may trigger a bag search. Just put them in a container and if you get asked to open your bag, then be more than greatful.
