I actually live in B/CS and am getting my PhD in the Counseling Psychology program at A&M! I am glad to be able to spread the word about the Counseling and Assessment Clinic in Bryan. The CAC is a non-profit psychological services, research and training clinic operating under the administration of A&M.

Counseling is not free, but very affordable. They base it on a sliding scale of your income... the usual base rate is $5 although I have several clients who pay $2 or $3. The CAC is located on Texas Avenue and the phone number is 979-595-1770. When you call, you will do a phone intake and they will learn more about you as well as tell you more about the CAC. I think we have a waiting list right now, but the wait usually isn't too long. You will then be assigned to a counselor who will call you and set up an intake appointment.

We are open tomorrow, Monday 12-8 so give the CAC a call. I hope it can be of help to you!

first off medicaid is not free, its paid for by millions of hardworking americans...second check or do a websearch for the area you are looking in for any counselors who do take medicaid, also there are a number of free counseling services available across the nation, just do a web search or look in your phone directory under counseling or call you local health department.

What kind of counseling are you looking for? If it is mental health every state and county should have a hospital that will provide free mental health counseling..example if you live in county B then the hospital that covers that county should have some type of mental health program..call that hospital and or ER and check with them...
