Basic spirits
Tequila
Run
Vodka
Whiskey
Cognac
Gin

Each is made different and you need to find the one you like the most and goes better with you... you can order straight or in a cocktail... you pay the bartender.

Tequila Casa Noble is my favorite

The easiest thing for a bartender to make is a highball- a simple mix of one type of alcohol and one mixer (usually something carbonated, but I'll expand the definition to include juices here). Because they're easy and use basic alcohols, these are often the cheapest drinks. Try:

- rum and coke
- gin and gingerale
- vodka seven (vodka and 7-Up)
- gin and tonic
- vodka cran (vodka and cranberry)
- scotch and soda

If you want more ingredients (and more of the bartenders time) you'll end up paying more. Popular mixed drinks include:

- mojito (rum, sugar, mint and soda water)
- Sex on the Beach (vodka and usually peach schnapps, orange juice and cranberry juice)
- Tequila Sunrise (tequila, orange juice and grenadine)
- Cosmopolitan (served in a martini glass, with vodka, triple sec, lime juice and cranberry juice)
- Margarita (normally not blended in a nightclub, with tequila, triple sec, lime juice and salt)

In North America, usually you order and wait for the bartender to make your drink before paying him. In other places, you might pay the cashier and then give your receipt to the bartender when you order, or you might get a card punched each time you drink and pay when you exit.

I'll link to a good site below, but be forewarned that not all drinks are universally known! Usually those in the Top 10 are pretty common.

Long Island Iced Tea, Sex on the Beach, Whiskey Sour, Amaretto Sour, Rum & Coke, Sloe Gin Fizz, Apple Martini.... You usually pay the bartender when they give you your drink. Unless your @ a resturant and they bring the drink to your table. In that case it would be included in your bill.

the 1st 2 responses are reliable, yet i'm basically letting you realize that some weddings basically serve 2-3 different varieties of alcohol beverages to keep the worry. i've got been to a pair receptions that serve: wine, Oberon, and bud mild. So extremely wine for the ladies, and a high quality beer like Oberon, and then a less costly mild beer like Bud mild. human beings never *****. that's alcohol.
