What is Love?

Question

For me love will equal many things ,but when you have love do you have pain?

I mean when there is heartbrake
that kind of love is pain cause you have to let go

There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me is...

(L)isten: and Validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

Love & pain go hand in hand. However, there are times when there's too much pain and you have to learn to let go. If you're in an abusive relationship its better to let go of that relationship. Abusive relationships can encompass those that are verbally abusive, physically abusive, emotionally abusive, etc. Those are extremely unhealthy relationships and if you stay in there you're risking bodily harm and sometimes even death. At some point, you have to watch out for yourself and be selfish. Have some self-esteem, at least enough to say, "I deserve better, I'm a good person and I deserve someone who'll love me without having to cause me so much pain."

In real, true love relationships, there is pain but not like that.
