It seems like that would make things easier, but it also seems to good to be true. Plus, how do you deal with reccomendations? Especially when you apply early to some colleges and regular to others-are your teachers just supposed to send them themselves or give them to you when they need them?

Many colleges accept applications online; try it it much easier; your teachers should sent letters themselves; just give them addressed envelopes with stamp

yes the common application works for all schools/colleges you want to apply to... when you fill out your information on their site and then go to the college website you want to apply to, your information will automatically get filled... and on the common app web, they will have a list of the colleges you choose to apply to and the ones you have already "submitted" your app to. The recommendations will have to be sent by the teachers separately anyway, you just have to let your teachers know which college they would need to send them to, and you are better off providing your teachers with the addressed/stamped envelops to make it easier on them because they have to do this for many many students... dont forget to follow up with the schools and the teachers....
