Eating too much protein can indeed be a problem. Many protein-rich foods (particularly those of animal origin like red meat and dairy products) are also high in fat.

The most proteins are in dairy products and meat, but they contain a lot of fat as well, so eating a lot of these products won't help losing weight.
Besided that, a high-protein diet to lose weight is not healthy.

White eggs,fish, soy product-tofu,soy drink(sugarless),red meat(beef,pork)-these are just some example and usually if you are on Atkins's diet you are advise to eat lots of protein based food.
It really works but don't take these foods for more than 7 days in a row or you'll be facing constipating problems later. After 7 days change to vege-only or fruit only diet. Then continue to protein based. Don't forget to drink lots of plain water and excercise.Good Luck and Cheers!

Type into your search engine" foods with protein" and you'll find a whole list of the foods. It's easier to give you this address than to list them all. Truth is, most Americans do get enough proteins thru the meats,and foods we eat. No worry about that usually.

I think you need to learn about nutrition before you go on a diet. Basically;
Protein is found in meat, fish and dairy. Carbohydrates are found in potatoes, pasta, nuts and bread. Sugar is a simple carbohydrate and honey counts as sugar. Fat is found in oil and fat. Then theres fruit and veg, and finally vitamins and minerals.
You need a balanced diet that contains the right proportion of all these food groups. As you want to lose weight you'd cut down on sugar and fat and increase excersise to burn calories.

Ask for your entrée being served on a bed of greens rather than bed of pasta or mashed oranges.
