Yes, it is sad that your dad doesn't remember the birthday of his child. Talk to him and tell him how you feel - or maybe write him a letter. He needs to know how you feel and that he screwed up.
Try not to let it get to you, I know it's easier said than done - you have a lot of people who love you very much and your dad is missing out by being a jerk. He will realize one day (hopefully sooner rather than later) everything he missed and how important you really are to him.

Be glad that you get to see him on the weekends. At least he is apart of your life. I bet he probably has a lot going on in his life right know. Maybe you should ask him if he will take you out to dinner for your birthday so you two can spend some time together.

You no this story sounds familiar I haven't spoke to my dad for about seven years and he hasn't seen his grandchildren. But you no what I'm better off with out him because you have your mother and all the other people in your family who cares about you if your father didn't send you something for your birthday i no its hard but don't think of it as not getting anything think of it as gaining something respect for the ones who are their for you its going to take time to get over this because I still think about my dad but life goes on and at least your not alone in the world like other people!!! Happy b-day and hang in their and talk to people they can help God Luck!!

Well sorry for you, but I don't want to be rude, I want just to be honest with you, if you wasn't in his mind, you wasn't in his heart either.
But that's OK, you will survive, even if it is sad, you surely have a Great Mom, who loves and care about you.
This is the life, we can't have all what we want or what we need. Take it easy, one day, he will apologize.

yes--it's sad--but join the club--there are lots of so-called "Dads" out there like this--my Dad quit talking to me because my boyfriend is a biker! The way I look at this--is that it is HIS loss--NOT mine--I have made it 34 years without his help and/or support--I will continue to make it just fine!

It's sad that he didn't care. It's not sad that he didn't get you a present, though. A gift is a gift, not an entitlement.

Yes, it's sad. But don't blame yourself for his ignorance. It's his own stupid fault he forgot, but deep down I know he cares about you, even though you might not think he does, and he might not show it, he still does, trust me.
