You can give Pedialyte to a child 12 months and older, and Pedialyte has more electrolytes than Gatorade. It shouldn't hurt him, but I'd stay away because of the sugar content.

What the heck are you doing giving that to a 13 month old. Give the baby juice especially made for children of that age. Gatorade has too much sugar and chemicals in it. Yes, it can hurt the baby.

Why would you want to give a 13 month old Gatorade? You should ask your pediatrician. I think just plain old juice would be better.

You'd be better off giving him pedialyte, since it's similar, but it's made for children. It will keep him from getting dehydrated when he's sick, and it doesn't have the sugars that Gatorade has.

Definitely I agree with the 'answerer' to ASK YOUR PED DOC, the salt/sodium balance in a baby is going to be different than for an adult. The electrolyte system is not something to mess around with in a young child, a baby or in an adult. Good question.

You should probably ask your doctor. If you are using it for rehydration, I read that Gatorade won't do it. You have to use Peadialyte.

Not really but it is loaded in sugar. The bad thing is that if kids get used to only wanting sweetened drinks when their thirsty then they reject what they need most - water. Just make sure its not the only thing that he drinks.

I don't think it's a good idea, his body is so small, you should just use Pedialyte or the Gerber brand of rehydration drink, it's made specifically for babies!

i don't see how. i gave it to my son at that age. i wouldn't use it to replace or reduce his milk intake, but during the warm weather when he is playing it is much better than drinks with more sugar.
