Yes, it depends on a lot of things like: Do you have children together, can the relationship be saved through therapy, does the person have potential to change, do they love you,have you tried everything possible on your end to save the relationship. Why would anyone want to waste their time in that way? You could be missing out on meeting someone who would be a good match, by sticking with someone who is not. This life is too short to waste it being unhappy or discontent, when it's within our power to change that.

hell no! i stayed in a relationship (a marriage) for too long because of my kids...big mistake! i should have gotten out sooner......ggoooooo gggggooooooooooo! if you are having thoughts of leaving...then go with that...you will be much happier
