Because crack is a very dangerous drug. So much attention these days is focused on methamphetamines (which ARE more dangerous to produce) and the results of that addiction, that people don't talk about what smoking crack will really do to you. It feels like the most wonderful thing you will ever experience, but the high is only there a matter of minutes. Unlike most other drugs that will keep you high for a period of time, the crack high is gone almost as quickly as it came. So then, you feel like you need another hit ... then when the high from that one is gone you need another ... people chase that high and they want it so badly they will do anything to get it.

for me street drugs were a way to escape reality (and when i say drugs i also mean alcohol along with other drugs) Yes in the beginning they were fun. They gave me courage allowed me to forget about pain and responsibilities. Drugs tell us that it will be better the next time that we won't get caught including that person that got busted with crack this is what they call denial.
They make us turn our back on Family, friends and Jobs they become our #1 priority in life that is why they call it an addiction and people who think willpower will stop you from taking drugs the next time you have diarrhea try using willpower to stop it addicted people need spiritual, mental and psychological help and rehabs give those or put you on the right track

The obvious answer is because the addiction is so strong they can't break away from it enough, even to save themselves and their loved ones from pain. But also, most people have some way that they numb themselves to the reality of the world. The world is too much for them to face without some type of thing to offer false comfort--drugs aren't the only thing people use, not by far; drugs are just obviously harmful.

Hi
Hopeless people who have been through tough time rely on drugs to give them relieve. Bad friends enourmously influence people's decisions especially the teenagers. Drugs cuases addiction and the more you consume the more you need. Serious intervention by the specialists can make people stop relying on drugs providing they become aware of the danger of the poisons.

Addiction my brother. Crack Cocaine is a very powerful drug that consumes ones life. All a crack head thinks about is their next hit.
There's only one thing that will truly deliver a individual from this bondage and that God.
Take it from me as I know for a FACT
I personally had 17 yrs. of that bondage.

Because unless you're very rich, or living with your parents, and/or too ignorant to know better, the fact of the matter is....Life is hard. One doesn't have to be weak, or stupid to take drugs, one only has to be human.

Drugs are tough.
You start using them because they feel really good.
The more you use them the less they feel good. You have to do more to feel good.
Eventually, they don't feel good anymore. You decide to stop.
Then you feel bad. So you take the drugs not to feel bad.
That's where the trap is. What starts out feeling good becomes something done to not feel bad.
Drugs suck.
