I joined the Navy way back when I was 21 in normal shape. The Navy obstacle course and physical fitness build you up. If you just continue to work out within moderation you will be ready to go. THe Navy was wonderful I loved it the whole 4 years, wished I had stayed in.

My young friend, as long as you pass the basic physical don't worry about being fit. The Navy will make you fit. When you get out of boot camp you will be healthier than you've ever been. They'll see to that.

Years ago I was drafted (yes, I'm that old.) I went in weighing a flabby 230 and left basic weighing in at 185.

My son joined the Navy a year in a half ago. He said Boot camp was very easy. He said All you really need to do is follow directions, it was more mental then anything.

If you want to know if you are fit enough to join the Navy, go to your local recruitment center or call them, and they will set up an appointment with you. They will discuss with you what, if anything you need to do to prepare. If you're under 18, one of your parents will probably have to go with you.
