Go to the Doc. Sweeling in your throat to the point that it affects your voice can be dangerous. Probably just a simple infection. But go just the same and get it looked at and properly treated. If it is affecting your voice then it is affecting your vocal cords. If they close, you don't breath. Hope you get better soon.

Could be pharyngitis, I get it when I have a really bad cold. Drink warm tea and get some lozenges...popsicles will numb your throat for a little while.

Once when i was sick, you should go to the doctor and get a throat culture, you may Strep throat or it could have elevated to Scarlet fever.
