She really is! I HATE HER! I can't take her! She's MAKING me go to this lil kid camp and when I say 'You didnt even ask me!' she says 'You're 13! YOU HAVE NO SAY IN ANYTHING! Im the boss!' She honestly thinks thats how she should parent me. I'm 13 and I have the curfew of a 6 year old. I was going to be in a play now I CANT CUZ I HAVE 3 WEEKS OF CAMP! HELP ME PLZ! I need to know how to tell her shes WAY OVER-STEPPING THE LINE! I tell my friends and they're like 'SHE HAS NO RIGHT TO PLAN UR SUMMER VACA!' I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO SAY TO MY MOM WHO IS BECOMING HITLER!

Dude! YOU'RE 13!!! She's freaked out. She thinks your going to be running around all summer trying to get crabs. I say have a heart to heart. Your both girls, have a crying session. Word from the wise, you can catch more flies with sugar then you can with vinegar. Don't come off like a snot nose little punk that knows it all. Play the innocent card. Ask. And don't just blurt out a whiny "WHY DO I HAVE TO GO TO CAMP!?" An alternative is come in looking sad (on the verge of tears sad.... think sad thought, tears WILL come) and say something along the lines of "Mom (not "Mommy" or the jig will be up!), I don't know how to say this... but I'm REALLY hurt. I was looking forward to the play this summer and now I can't be in it. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if camp was a good alternative, but I think I'm too old for that camp...." give reasons, sound mature. Unless, your Mom is planning on running a porn studio in the house during your absence there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to stay. I know I'm seeing the lighter side of what is life or death for you right now, but you DON'T hate your Mom. You just don't like her. Don't feel guilty though, I'm sure she doesn't like you very much sometimes either.

A couple of rude answers here ... it's like they've never been 13 before. Here's the deal you mom has a reason for wanting to get
rid of you for 3 weeks. Can you think what the reason is? Does she, maybe, want to take a little vacation of her own? If so you need to work around this. Why don't you find some alternatives ...some other camps perhaps a drama camp or a relative you can visit instead. Try to find something that will work for both of you. Before you try to negotiate ... make sure you have a viable alternative and leave the hate and Hitler stuff out of your mindset. Good luck.

You live under your mother's roof, you go by her rules. She is afraid that you will have too much unsupervised time on your hands during summer vacation. When you are at camp, you will be kept busy being involved in camp life.
You stay home, get bored, go to the malls, hang out with the wrong crowd, get pressured into who knows what. Your mother has the right idea. If I had a 13 year old girl she would be in a supervised camp all summer.

One day when you get a little older you will see your mom's true wisdom. You are just 13 but I know you feel you are so grown but you are not. Neither do you hate her you are just mad at this moment. Be mature about the things you do then she will start lightening up on you. FYI another 13 yr old especially your friend will just tell you what you want to hear. Be patient and do your beat to avoid conflict, excel so you can be on your own sooner if it doesn't work out. Good luck

Don't take it to be so bad...you may just come to enjoy yourself at the camp.
All said, she's your mom and you're very young to take a step against what she says. The best way is to ask her if there are alternatives to going to the camp. If she insists on the camp, then go and have fun there itself.

You are 13. She has every right to dictate how you spend your summer. When you are older you can make your own decisions. If you are 13, I don't think you are supposed to be on here anyway.

Do something that will hurt your mom (not physically). Steal her credit card and use it on worthless junk or tell her you would go to camp and then run away. Use your imagination.

LOL.....the hitler thing was hilarious!!!.....ummmm....ive had the same problem with my mom....but ive learned that if i want to talk to her them i have to be mature about the whole thing.....i have to be calm and listen to her like i want her to listen to me. If she wont listen to you and demands that you go to camp then you have to go.....it sucks i know but your a minor and she has the right to send you to camp.....lol
