I'm guessing he was frustrated that he had to wait on the phone. It's aggression. He also sounds a little angry. I think you nailed it on the head when you said "impatient". To me "I'll give you your ball!" is the same as "Make ME wait on the phone will you." It's selfish and disrespectful.

A layman's interpretation.

Your mum and dad, just don't have patience and what you needed is someone with patience which they didn't seem to have. They seemed to had been really impatient with you. Did you keep them waiting long? Were they like that with anyone else? Were and are they inpatient?

It doesn't really mean anything. Its just supposed to sound scary, I do that with my children now... for example, if you said "let me just get some water" i'd say "ill give you some water!". Just somthing that sounds intimidating. Not sure if it worked on you, but it works on my kids.

he was being sarcastic i believe ... and he sounds like he was a type to get angry at you for no reason at all...some dads demand their children to do what they said right now... absurd to me.. i hope that you are away from home now.. but if not take one day at a time and do the best you can.. good luck

I'll give you your ball means that He will give you only that , that you trully deserve. He will give it to you that which you needed to know and have and he will share with you that which needed share, all without prejudice
