No there was an agreement between Ireland and the UK that allows people to go between the two islands without a passport. You need photographic ID for yourself but you don't need to put your child on your passport or anything. Plus you are still travelling within the UK so it's totally okay to travel without photo ID for your child.

Passports are not required for domestic flights,in other words flights in the uk,northern ireland is part of the uk.birth certificate will do for children under 16,any photo id for adults,i got my 13 year old photo id just in case some airlines don't accept birth certificates,which is very doubtful.go to www.citizencard.co.uk,they do id for any age,you can get your daughter a photo id,then you won't have to worry.

You, my friend, are going to need a whole new passport; I think there are 2 options, 1 passport with your 2 yr old on your lap or they may allow the baby to have an individual passport that will most likely need to be renewed every couple of years instead of, what is it now, 10 years; also, you'll need an original birth certificate with a RAISED SEAL(not a copy); Google it! No no passport is needed as you are still travelling with in the UK, but however I would bring some id for the child just in case as I was caught out when I travelled to Belfast from London with my child.I ended up having to get my child's birth certificate photo copied to Belfast airport to show I had id for my child.

i travel to england quite a lot from n. ireland with 3 children. you only need birth certificates / medical cards etc. photograph id is for adults

You are within the UK so that shouldn't be a deal but you do need ID to fly so ask the airline on what is their ID-ing policy.

yes you both need your own seperate passport, you better get applying soon as they can take a while. my daughter had to have her own when she was 2 years old.................................................. to travel by air from england to scotland you need a passport so will def need one to go to ireland, child passports are now used and you can update the babys pic free of charge whenever you need to.

my kids live in england and i live in n. ireland and my g. daughters needed passports to fly here
