Sometime late in February, Medicare passed no more gastric bypass surgery would be allowed. However, they would approve, I believe, if the hospital and or surgeon was somehow aproved by them. They had to have some type of acreditation (if there is such a word) before they would approve the surgery. Also I think a high percentage of their surgeries had to be the different forms of gastric bypass surgery. Has anyone heard the latest on this?

A friend told me their is a place that does not only the surgery but does some liposuction at the time of surgery. Don't know if this is true. But they have not been approved by Medicare either.

Whatever help anyone can give would be appreciated.

well check with the insurance companys, then the drs, surgen office and see if they do it. and one you really have to be over weight to have this done. if your 500 lbs check with the drs. and then you have to get approval for the surgery and get an medical exam and clearance. so good luck to you.
