Just get a thicker fabric for your curtains, or have you considered getting blinds? They're really nice, and when you close them, totally opaque, because they're vinyl or plastic or something like that.

Is your intent to also be able to see out??? With the curtains drawn? Or allow some ambient light in?

You can do window tint, m ini blinds in addition to the curtains, sheers with the curtains, lined curtains, etc.

You could also try Rice paper if the only object is to allow some brightness during daylight hours.

I have strawberry colored blinds on my windows. I can't see a damn thing from the outside. If you're looking for curtains, Id get a thick but bright colored curtain from any hardware/houseware store.

The home improvement stores (OSH, HOME DEPOT, etc) have adhesive window films (sorta like contact paper, for windows) that allow light in, but have textures in them so your windows appear to have been "frosted" or "diffused" for privacy. Try it.
