Most drinks take their name by their ingredients or their looks.
So you would think a drink called the “Royal Flush” would have 5 separate ingredients.
But it doesn’t.
The “Royal” part of the drink comes from the Crown Royal.
The “flush” part of the drink comes from the color of the drink after it is made. It should look “flushed”.
The other person that said that Chambord was only there to “up” the price is correct.
You do not need the Chambord if you do not want.
It will, however, make the drink more “flush” and actually a little sweeter.
It’s your call.
ROYAL FLUSH (same as most of the others):
1 ½ part Crown Royal
1 part Peach Schnapps
½ part Chambord
Fill rest of glass with lots of ice and Cranberry Juice
And by the term “part”, I mean if you put 1 ounce of Peach Schnapps then you would put ½ ounce of Chambord.
if you make your drink and it is too sour ... add a little more Chambord or Peach Schnapps.
if you make your drink and it is too sweet ... add a little more Crown Royal or ice.
if it just totally sucks, give it to a drunk person and start over.
p.s. Remember, Five Aces beat a Royal Flush.
1 part Absolut Vodka
1 part Amaretto
1 part Apricot Brandy
1 part Apple (sour) Pucker
1 dash Absinthe
