Ok. The file is is in Windows media player format. It downloads to my MP3 no bother but when i scroll to the song and press play it skips this song and goes on to the next one?

I think that's because your MP3 player doesn't support WMA format, but it is downloaded to it, because it can be used as an external storing device. Try an audio format converter like Audio Catalist to change the format to MP3.

check the bitrate. usually the standard mp3 player will play an mp3 at 128kbit/44.1khz. If you downloaded the mp3 and it was at 96kbit/32.khz, the specific program you are using may not be able to decode it at such a low rate. If you have a program that converts your bitrates, convert it to 128kbit/44.1khz. The way you can check the bitrate is by right mouse clicking on the mp3 and selecting properties. Also make sure you infact downloaded an mp3 and not the file as an .ogg or .aiff. If it is downloaded as any other format than mp3 then you will need to convert it TO mp3.

If its in the Windows Media format then it`s probably WMA NOT MP3.Not every MP3 player plays WMA format.

My guess is that the song you downloaded either did not download completely, or its not what you thought you downloaded. Check the size, and compare it to other mp3's you have downloaded, if its a small number then you probably didnt get the whole song or complete the download. Try downloading it again, I would recommend from another source.

Either your mp3 player can't play .wma files, or the file itself is corrupted. Go to the almighty web and download another copy! This time make sure it's mp3 format, just to make sure. I recommend Bearshare.com or Limewire.com.

Its because it is in windows media format...do you mean that you have ripped it from a CD...if this is the case it will only play on windows media...you can get a convertor though that will convert to .mp3 at www.download.com

Maybe the file is corrupt or didn't complete the download fully. Try downloading the file again. You could also try playing it on something else to see if it works there.

is it a protected song like through napster? if so, you have to have a compatible device to play that file properly, or you have to pay the 99 cents to have a burnable copy of the song. its called DRM, digital rights management, and it prevents people from sharing songs that they have not purchased. if you subscribe to napster to go, you pay like 5 more bucks a month, but you can put those songs on CERTAIN compatible mp3 players, they have a list.

Might be a corrupted file, try and load it again, or your player might not play WMA files.
