Tell him the truth. Your son appears to be curious about his body. You do him a disservice if you avoid the question or give him some stupid, cutesy answer. I wish my father had been straight with me when I asked those questions at a young age. I probably would have been more comfortable going to him in the future about sex questions. Above all else, show your son that you are always there for him to answer his questions. It may not seem too big right now, but the payoff will be there when he's a teenager.

Give him an answer that he'll understand and not get confused or ask further questions to complicate things further.
Telling him that they're testicles or that's what makes him different from girls would only confuse him further.
Simply tell him that it's just another part of the body.
I know kids come up with the funniest of questions to which he may even ask of what does one do with them (presuming that hands and legs are also parts of the body which we use in some way or the other)...simply tell him that there are body parts like the chin, elbows, knees etc which we really don't use to do anything with but are still a part of our body.
Hope he’ll be satisfied with your answer and not ask any further questions about the little egg things :)

Tell him the truth. He's five, and if he's asking these questions, its obviously time to tell him more. Maybe its also time to start calling his dinger by the proper term.
You don't need to get into too much detail, just give an age appropriate answer. He should know all this stuff about his body before it gets time for the birds and bees talk. Or better yet, before he starts school.

tell him the truth and like some of the other posts, he'll be open and honest with you about his feelings! one otherpost mentioned a parent should have been truthful about the "down there" anatomy. i would have to agree, if my parents had been open about my private parts i probably would have been alittle more comfortable talking about sex
good thing my catholic school had sex ed!!
also, you may want to start using the correct terms yourself, dinger to penis and balls to testicles.
why wait til he asks you? why not just tell him?

The truth in terms that he will understand. #1 rule, never lie to your kids about anything and never talk to them as if they don't have a brain in their heads. If he asks again, just tell him that all boys and men have those and that they are called testicles. Do not use any of the cutsie words for that area of the body; that is what perverts use to get kids. And don't tell him more than he asks because he is still too young to understand.

Tell them they are his testicles. He will then probably ask "what are they for". Then you tell him thats how we know you are a boy. Girls dont have them. That should hold him over till about 8.
Always tell them the truth just don't elaborate so much. They need the info a little at a time.

Tell him exactly what they are. He's eventually going to get information about his body from somewhere and it might as well be the correct information. Otherwise, he'll end up like so many who don't know a whole lot.

Simply tell him they are called testicles. If he has any other questions, then he will ask, but only answer the question that he asks. For example, if he is asking "what's this?" then you don't have to give a long explanation.
