If ur actually ill you dont need an excuse, just go to your doctors and get a doctors note then your boss will have no reason to doubt you. If not then any boss worth their salt can tell if someone is faking so dont worry! Just get off the internet and get some rest!

The laws on employment, medical confidentiality, data protection etc specify that your employer has no right to actually demand you disclose the details of your illness because it's protected information between you and your medical practitioner. When we do disclose our medical details to employers we give them permission to know it and usually sign a disclaimer. So just tell him you're ill and to naff off and that's all he has a right to know. He won't like it but that's the way it is... won't help your career or relationship with him though but sounds as though you don't care much about that anyway, nor about your workmates who have to do your work while you shirk off. Hope he finds another reason to sack you.

In your case just go to the doc and get a note. But if that is not an option you can use the excuse of having Diarrhea. No one wants to discuss that usually and it explains why you can't leave the house. Just a suggestion.

Stop joking about being ill.
Have some respect for your own health and your own work ethic.
Phone in sick, if you have to. If its flu, you better take at leat a week off. If you are wanting just one day off - get over yourself.

Tell the boss you have done your back in. As it is one of the best and can't be proved. You can up this one over and over again for as long as you what.

You'll never hear the REALLY good ones because, like you, they only work so many times.
"I've had a mastectomy" doesn't get used too often.
its a posh word for a filling
Try that
