I have thick, dark hair and I was wondering how to make it all shiny and stuff. I heard that some people use vinegar.. but what does that do??

Shampoo, Condition, GLOSS!!! :)

Use a good shampoo and conditioner. Followed by a smoothing oil or glossing polish.

In an emergency, Pantene's clarifying shampoo will strip any styling products from your hair and then follow with their Pro V conditioner worked through and left for at least 3 minutes. Make sure you rinse it REALLY well in warm but not hot water. Hot water dries out your hair. (I like to turn the water to cool as a final rinse after I rinse most of the conditioner out with warmer water. It closes the follicles and is better for your hair & skin.)

Wrap your hair in a towel while you dry off or do whatever else you do after your shower, lotion, etc. Then flip your hair upside down and scrunch in a few drops of smoothing oil. (Repair & Shine, Bio Silk, Glossing Polish are all good and Target just started carrying some of them, so they're easy to find.)

A little bit goes a long way and I only scrunch it into the ends of my hair, not at the scalp or it will look oily.

I use a hair pick or wide tooth comb to comb my hair out after I scrunch in the smoothing oil. Flip your hair upside down and work through the ends first then up towards your scalp. It will get distributed evenly and your hair will be super silky & tangle free when it dries.

If you don't want to spend money the you can use vegetable oil. All you need to do is put enough to lightly cover your hair. Then wait 15min. Rinse out the oil. Or if your don't mind spending money then you can buy a ceramic hair straightener, which I use. It works great. It makes your hair really straight and shiny.
