Whitney Elizabeth Houston (born August 9, 1963) is an American R&B pop singer, songwriter, actress, film producer, and former model. Houston debuted in 1985 with the release of her self-titled album, and later released a record seven consecutive number-one hits on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. She was also one of a few African-American artists who received heavy rotation on early MTV in the 1980's. ... glad you asked, she is my all time favorite singer.... until she hooked up with her now husband bobby brown, hip hop rapper and trouble boy.. they both began using drugs and went down fast and permanently...[ why do some celebrity marriages have to last??] she always was a skinny girl w/ a powerful voice and pretty face. she could not only sing in 7 octave's but she could do it effortlessly... she sang like eric clapton plays guitar[ without pier and without effort]. nobody in my memory sang so beautifully so easily... AND she picked the right songs to sing.. no "tinny bobber "stuff, no "fluff" quality ballads and love songs that will be song for generation to come... she never had much of a personality.. on talk shows she acted a fool... maybe thats how she hooked up w/ bobby brown... but lord she could sing like a band of angels!!!
during the 1st gulf war she sang the national anthem at the superbowl and brought down the entire stadium and viewing audience all the world like nobody before or since.. you have to see it [ and hear it] to believe it ! whitney what have you done ??? actually you are quite lucky not knowing who she is , because now you can put on a pair of quality head sets and listen to her for the 1st time...you'll never forget it .
