I believe it is. However, your friend should be careful about whether the man is truthful. Despite that though, I really do believe that people can meet and fall in love from the net. That movie "You've Got Mail" is an example, even if it's just a movie. It could happen.

Hi Madc - if your friend told the man to stop writing, she must have felt something wasn't quite right. She can block his e-mails and when she doesn't write back, he'll get the picture. How can he profess his love for her when they haven't met and only been e-mailing 5 months? You say she is "falling for him" - sounds like she's falling in love with love. Does she spend all her time on-line? That's a very limited and artificial existence. I am concerned that, although she told him to stop writing, he kept it up. As far as people meeting on the net and ending up together, yes of course it's possible. (I know of a couple who met on-line 5 years ago, e-mailed for two years, married and have a young daughter, but I'm not sure at what point he told her he was an amputee....) They are happy together and their little girl is darling, but they both admit it has been a tough haul.

Yes, it can happen. You can get to know the person first on here. Meeting is always the best thing, if you can. It's easy to get doubts, just make sure you know they are real and not imagined. And always ask rather than assume. The truth always comes out. People meet online, fall in love, and marry all the time. I have several friends who have.

D*mn straight it is!!! I did and it didn't take too long, either. We've been together from 2000 miles away for over a year now, and actually got to meet in March. Wish your friend luck, and be happy for her, because you never know-she might have found someone very special. Of course there are sad stories out there too, but I've heard other happy ones besides mine, so good things DO happen this way.

You might fall in love with the words that person is saying to you, but you can't love a person you never met. He sounds like bad news.

If you met on net and never in real life there's no way to truely fall in love.

If she told him to stop contacting her and he continues, then there's a problem. He sounds like one of those freaky dudes you hear about on the 6 o'clock news or something. But if they just started talking and clicked instantly, then I see no problem... I guess it depends on the situation.
