We are aware that the forces pledge allegiance to the constitution but what would happen if there are some rogue generals. I'm thinking of a motion picture with Burt Lancaster, some date in May (name of picture). The way this is going, ignoring the constitution, could this happen?

Well, for one thing - it is not 'his' Army. And it cannot happen, it is the duty of every soldier to disobey and report any unlawful order. And general who attempted to give such an order would find himself relieved of duty and arrested.

The simple fact is that a few rouge people cannot take over the US military - there is simply too much real and unshakable belief in the US Constitution among the people who serve.

Sorry folks but you can drive a tank between the difference in CAN'T and SHOULDN'T happen! Lincoln "The Great Emancipator" had 13,000 U.S citizens arrested, some high ranking state elected officals among them. The Chief Justice at the time, Roger Taney, issued a writ of habeas corpus(that means HE WANTS TO SEE THEM !) LINCOLN TOLD THE ARMY TO IGNORE THE SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES! So don't ask IF it will happen ask WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN! rember GITMO IS ONLY 85 miles from florida and you could be there TONIGHT!

Never happen! There's this thing called the posse comitatus act that prevents such an occurance. (It's the same act that was violated when the army sent tanks from Ft. Hood, Texas to Waco to kill the Branch Davidians).

Could happen. A tank or Humvee on every corner. Small pockets of resistande from gun owners.
I suggest you cast Johnny Depp or Keiffer Sutherland. Burt Lancaster, God love him, is dead, is he not?
