stive_br giving his opinion of atheists

I as an atheist don't believe that someone who disagrees with my beliefs is going to some kind of hell.

I don't understand the need for this hate.

What I don't understand is how a rational person can attribute such unfathomable cruelty to 'God'. Believing in hell is a blasphemy. It's a lie. A very nasty lie blatantly against 'God'. I can only assume the reason people are so easily deceived by the lie of eternal damnation is that they're so full of hate and spitefulness themselves that they are incapable of sane thought on the subject.

Christians can not condemn anyone to anywhere..They can only give advice and show someone what the Bible says. We do not have any control over where you go when you die.. Opinions are just that.
You put all the answers without the questions?? most of those answers are to some smart Alec questions about how God should let them do some kind of sin and not punish them or criticizing God about something...
Do you think that you can get away with talking bad about your creator and disobeying him?? Are you smarter than God just because you don't believe in him..
God sent Jesus to save us from Hell. You don't want Jesus and are upset with God because he won't make the rules the way you want them?? Get real, life is not how each person wants it. We don't make the rules..

Yes, but maybe they should actually read the bible, I think there's something in there about judging others... and I think if they say that someone is going to hell for not believing in their god, then wouldn't they be condemned to going to hell for judging others...

I was brought up Catholic, and I don't agree with the Catholic churches teachings, but I think the priest in the parish where I live is really cool, he's not all high and mighty, he's a normal guy doing his job. He really proved this whenever my grandda was dying, my grandda converted from Protestant to Catholic to be with my granny, and in Northern Ireland over 40 years ago that wasn't an easy decision, well anyway, whenever my grandda was dying he came to the hospise, and sat talking with my entire family for about 2 hours, smoking like a train and cursing like a trooper, proving that we are all just human. And of course we asked him to do the funeral because it'd be quick because he'd be dying for a feg (cigarette), and no one in my family really believes in the Catholic church, but it was done for my grandda. This priest knows that we don't believe in it, and although he'll sleg (mess around) with my aunt and I (because we're the only ones that has made our feelings known), he doesn't try and condemn us or anything, it's only extremists, like in any religion, that go around saying that only their religion is the one true religion.

Also the bible has a lot of contradictions in it as well, if you look at it, the old testament god is vengeful and unforgiving, but in the new testaments god is loving and forgiving. So if god is loving and forgiving after Jesus then wouldn't that mean that we're all going to heaven anyway? Makes sense to me... :P

Well, what your looking at there is anger and frustration about people's contempt and resistance. The only reason to warn somebody about hell is to try to help them, it really doesn't do us any good to try to save people, it's an altruistic effort that makes a lot of people hate us. Though yeah, those quotes are shameful, there's nothing hateful about thinking people will go to hell and trying to get them out of it. It's not like i can just say "i don't want to think hell is real, that would suck for a lot of people." and disregard the doctrine about it. It's hypocrisy to change your beliefs just to try to get along with people.

wow I find this really funny...questions keep being asked on How Christians can think it is OK to judge or condemn others who don't believe the same way to hell......listen closely...it is not the Christians that are condemning you but the very Word of God that is judging you......we are only stating the truth that is in it...and believe us we find no joy in it...but we tell you to help you not end up there.....one day you will thank a christian for telling you or you will curse yourself for rejecting what a christian warned you about

All I can say is wow. I mean you really came upon someone that came in Jesus' name other than being a true Christian. Christianity is the following of CHRIST'S instructions. TO FORCE is not Jesus' way. I apologize for someone else bad approach to introducing you to something new. That is not OUR nature, to be unpleasant. The door always stays open even if no one tells you so. PEACE! GOD IS REAL.

Christians do not condemn anyone to Hell. All who go to Hell effectively choose it, because they reject God's kingdom rule in their lives.

We are all born as rebels. A child does not need to be taught to say "No", or to steal or to hurt others. A child does these things because they are basic to it's nature. That's because we are all born into Satan's kingdom - he is "the ruler of the earth". We all want our own way, not God's way.

So we all have a problem, a bad nature that needs changing. Only Jesus can do this for us.

The Bible teaches that Hell was prepared for the devil and his angel followers. If anyone refuses God's rule in their lives, they automatically remain in Satan's kingdom, into which all of us are born.

To illustrate this think of two buses. One bus is going to Heaven, the other bus to Hell. All humans are born into Satan's kingdom (the ruler of the earth). Unless we opt out of it and into God's kingdom, we effectively remain aboard Satan's bus. We need to get off Satan's bus and on to Jesus' bus, headed for Heaven.

Finally, in Hell there is no love - who wants to experience that?

Listen you quote what you want for your benefit only,,,
One truth exists, and one God and his son Jesus came into the world for all mankind, its a simple thing to believe in Jesus but you can't except that because you CHOOSE to live in sin,, not that i don't sin either but I have Jesus blood as my covering, So you choose sin in our beliefs you choose Satan in this world and YES you will spend enterinty in HELL, sorry if you think its cruel, you have a chance to change you choose not to believe don't blame me , YOU can change it around now and insure your faith after death,, but you don't want to , its easy to live in sin,,,fanatics Christians not fun, So deal with it, and besides you don't believe in Hell so why does it bug you so much. Cause maybe a little piece of you is not so certain that your right and that scares you and that will remind you makes you mad.. To bad God told us what to say, its in his word which we accept as from him...

I agree. I am Christian and I converted to another religion due to that point... most main stream Christian churches and believers think that if you don't believe in what they preach then you will go straight to hell.. God loves everyone and he is the sole judge...
