Way to answer your own question. i don't see what your point is though, when Satan's use of the scriptures is accompanied by faulty reasoning. Satan says in effect "jump off this building because it can't hurt you." He's using the ethical argument, saying that what is right or wrong can be determined by what hurts somebody and what doesn't. Jesus answers back with typical common sense and tells Satan what the law actually says is right in that situation. Both use scripture, but one uses faulty logic (ie saying that God's promise of safety is a command to go jumping off things). So we're right back where we were: bad logic leads in bad directions.

Excellent point!
Scripture is Scripture, and it is up to its reader to QUOTE and/or MISQUOTE the specific texts for his/her own agenda... This has been done for the last two millennia and continues to be done even here today.
The key is to discern which ones exploit the Scriptures for their own advantage and NOT for the True Message that it contains.
Peace be with you!

Satan used it in a mocking way. He wanted to be God. SATAN USED HOLY SCRIPTURES AGAINST GOD, just like atheists and skeptics do. WE USE THEM FOR GOD, in the proper way. We are using them to prove points, because we figure that God's Wisdom is greater than mine, yours, and any other humans. You really need to read that account in the Bible. You missed alot!

Satan quoted scripture and twisted it. Not all scripture that is quoted is twisted. Let scripture interpret scripture.

The description of the encounter between Satan and Jesus is related at Matthew 4:1-11 where the Bible states "1 Then Jesus was led by the spirit up into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil. 2 After he had fasted forty days and forty nights, then he felt hungry. 3 Also, the Tempter came and said to him: “If you are a son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4 But in reply he said: “It is written, ‘Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every utterance coming forth through Jehovah’s mouth.’”
5 Then the Devil took him along into the holy city, and he stationed him upon the battlement of the temple 6 and said to him: “If you are a son of God, hurl yourself down; for it is written, ‘He will give his angels a charge concerning you, and they will carry you on their hands, that you may at no time strike your foot against a stone.’” 7 Jesus said to him: “Again it is written, ‘You must not put Jehovah your God to the test.’”
8 Again the Devil took him along to an unusually high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, 9 and he said to him: “All these things I will give you if you fall down and do an act of worship to me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’” 11 Then the Devil left him, and, look! angels came and began to minister to him. "
For more information about who rules the world and how to seperate yourself from it and survive the coming "end of the system of things as described at Matthew 24:3-14 "3 While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”
4 And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.
7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.
9 “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. 10 Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; 12 and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. 13 But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. 14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
