Grapefruits are not necessarily bad for HBP but, with many meds for BP and heart related problems they can be bad. Look up the drug name on ixquick.com, check for side effects, adverse reactions. If your on meds then you shouldn't mix them.

Grapefruits are not bad for high blood pressure, quite the opposite. Grapefruit is very very healthy to eat for a variety of reasons. However, there is some research that shows that grapefruit lowers the working ability of many medications. That doesn't mean you can't eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice. It is suggested that you don't have them within an hour before or after taking medication, that is all. If you do, it is not going to do something awful to you. It just means that dose of medication won't have a full effect. It won't affect your next dose. Doctors are often difficult to talk to, but Pharmacists are very educated and usually very helpful. They can tell you about any specific reactions, and for free!
