My 16 month old daughter has a snotty nose and the same stuff coming out of her eyes, it is like a thick green gunk and I would like to know what it is how to treat it and if it is contagious? Any ideas?

Sounds like its a bad cold with conjuctivitis. Conjunctivitis is very contagious but i think you should take little one to the doctors just to get it checked out.

My son had the same, it's probably sticky eye. Cool boiled water on cotton wool wiped once across the eyes. Don't use the same cotton wool for both eyes. If it doesn't clear up in 24 hours then see the doctor.

your daughter probably has conjunctivitis.this can be caused by illness such as a cold as she sounds to have.take her to your local pharmicist where they can dispense eyedrops without need of a prescription.clean eyes just now with sterile water ie water that has boiled and cooled down.clean each eye with a different piece of cotton wool.it is contagious so dont let anyone touch your daughter and then themselves without scrubbing their hands first.

she seems to have an upper respiratory tract infection, there is a connecting hole between the nose and the eyes that is why you are getting the stuff both areas,

she needs a doctor ASAP and he will probably prescribe antibiotics if it is bacterial but if it is viral all yu can give would be lots of fluids, and paracetamol

its just snot, she has wiped it up from her nose and into her eyes,it will clear up in a few days by itself, best not to give children too many anibiotics. just clean it with cotton wool and cooled down boiled water.
