Listen to your father who begot you, and despise not your mother when she is old. Proverbs 23:22

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37

Luke 10:

30 In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.

31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.

32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.

33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.

34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.

35 The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'

36 "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"

37 The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."

From the time I was a small child I remember a sampler that my mother had on the wall that her grandmother had made. It read: "The grass withers and the flower fades, but the word of our God shall stand forever." So, I guess this would be a favorite Bible verse.

John 8:
31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

combined with
John 14
6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

This shows that if you to Jesus teachings you will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free. It also shows you that Jesus is the Truth. I love these vs. Plus I think you can guess another of my faves from my name ;)

My favorite biblical verse is Galations 3:28.

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ ... "

This is my favorite verse because it shows that the trappings of the world are untrue. We are not truly our genders, our nationalites, our religions, or our social status. We are not our bodies which Jesus tried to get people to understand. Thus our judgement and hatred of one another on the basis of these things is unfounded and worldly. In essence, we are spirits or souls instead of our garments of skin and that is a beautiful thing to me.
