Is there going to be a lot of angry people when we start enforcing immigration laws again? Is a portion of all this attributable to enforcement failures through the years?

I read recently that the population of the USA was about to hit 300 million. If there are between 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants in the country, I don't think deporting them is going to cause the majority of people in the USA to get angry. I know there are illegal supporters, too, but how many of them are there, do you think? Maybe what another 50 million? Just a wild guess. Well, I think that 250 million or more angry US citizens are a lot more important than maybe 70 million angry illegals and their supporters. Ship 'em out! Who cares if some people get mad about it!

I don't really care if it makes them made. They can wait in line like the rest of the legal immigrants had to. If they are not willing to do so...then I say get the F out.

Oh, and I doubt they will ever truly enforce immigration laws. People are too afraid of being called racist to stand up for their country. I guess they don't care.

US immigration law has been enforced since it was first written. That there are more violators than there are officers to catch them and send them away doesn't mean they aren't trying, and that the law has been ignored. Plenty of people have been deported every year for generations; there is just not enough enforcement to go around.

Yes there will be a lot of angry people and it will be partly because we have failed to enforce the laws before now. Think of the US as a battered woman, and illegals as the abuser. The longer a woman puts up with the abuse the madder her abuser gets when she finally stands up for herself. He may become even more violent and dangerous because he's used to having things his way. He will try to keep or reclaim his property, or make sure no one else can have her. But don't worry, because she is plenty pissed and ready to defend herself, finally. Even more angry at her father (government), though, for sanctifying this brutal relationship.

Of course it makes them mad. They have no respect for us, for the USA or for our laws. They broke the laws to get here. They continue to break many laws by staying here. When told to leave they start throwing a fit. They need to leave the country and if they want to come back here then they need to do so legally. They have no interest in that though. They just want to come up here and break our laws and do whatever they want. These criminals are in addition a threat to national security. Part of the legal immigration processing that takes place is to screen and check on people that want to come here. With the illegals, there is no way of knowing anything about them. We need to deport them. The sooner the better.

It's likely that any change in a law or the enforcement of a law will anger someone, so technically the answer is yes. The question then becomes how many.

I guess it is their turn to be upset, and I am sure that there will be a whole bunch of them "upset" . But oh well! They made a choice upon entering MY country illegally and it seems that quite a lot of them are going to begin paying for that long ago decision.
The patience of the righteous has been tested to the limit. It is now time to demand that our immigration laws be swiftly enforced if not sooner.
Haley, what do you know?, share please.

It would make people angry because that policy is like a revolving door which you can see in office buildings. You walk in to the door and its great and then a few seconds later you are out the door again, not experiencing that American drean which people before you talked about

"To the end of the line." That is one of the few statements Bush made that I agree with. LOL They should not be processed before the others that have been waiting legally to enter our country...That would be a disgrace to allow them to cut in front of law abiding people.

Of course, it will make some people angry. Too bad...for they can either abide by the law or go back to their country of origin.
