We are looking for the simplest way to get this done and it's in a bedroom.

The glue has probably been on the floor for 20 years or better. The house is 90 years old.

Try some WD-40. Spray it on a wipe it off. If that doesn't work get some Goo b Gone.

Umm..i dont know if this would work, but it might. Use a hair dryer to heat up the glue until it become kind of loose so then u can just wipe it off.

If your floor has a finish on it, it should pop right off. Try a razor blade, or even you nail. Wood glue sticks to raw wood only.

heat gun and a scraper be careful to keep scraper flat
