Yes! I found my soulmate on americansingles.com. It was pretty amazing how much alike we are, given that americansingles doesn't really have that great a matching service like eharmony or anything.
But anyway, we met over two years ago and have been living together over a year and a half. We're getting married in September!! The relationship has been wonderful and the best one either one of us has ever had (and we'd both been married before, too).
So YES, it can work!

Hi strippergirl.
Love that handle. Yes to your question. And yes it did work....we are married and have been for about 4 years.
We lived together for about a year first so knew what we were getting into so to speak.
We met through one of the on-line dating services.
It's web site is: http://www.dreammates.com
When you join you fill out your profile and they try to match you as best they can with the kind of person you are looking for.
I am sure you are familiar with how it works and there are many out there.
I don't know how dreammates works now but back then anytime a man made a contact it cost him a bit of money. Women could do that for free but when she contacted him it also costs him.
Sounded unfair to me but it worked.
And by the way "singlegirl" is right you do have to be take precautions. When my wife and I were to meet for the first time I gave her names and phone numbers of some of my family.
Insist on that and follow through. If he will not do it...say good-bye.

I have met a couple people off the internet. One is a friend and has been for many years, and the other that I can think of went bad.

once about 6 or seven youears ago. we had an affair for a moth or two before she went back to her husband.
i lost her details as they were stored in my cell phone which was lost shortly after she left the area.
so i have to say it depends on the individuals involved. like any relationship it takes a lot of time and effort to make the relationship work. all worth it if your in love.
but often people online are just looking for a quiuck one nighter rather than a relationship.
personaly i'm not into one nighters, i'd rather a relationship, thats just me though.
in my experiance as you can see for your self it worked for a month before she left to go back to her hubby.
