Was anyone punished for killing Jesus? The Jews rejected Him, though Jesus was Jewish. They weren't punished, either.

The Jews were punished when Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans, in 70 AD. The Romans were punished a few hundred years later, when the empire fell, but not until after God had made good use of the Roman empire to spread Christianity throughout the whole world.

Actually, 'nobody' really 'killed' Jesus. He gave his life. He even said - "no man takes my life - but I give it." But for the sake of this argument - because the Jews were living in Rome, they prodded the Romans into assisting with this death sentence. Remember that The Jews' whole anger was because they were looking for someone to come and "rid them of the harsh Roman government". Jesus didn't do that. He came talking about loving everybody and fulfilling the prophesy that they, themselves did not even believe from their forefathers. The Jews were guilty of wanting to get rid of this man who they saw only as "a carpenter's son" - not the Christ to overthrow the Roman government. And because they were also afraid of the Roman government - that they would come after them, they needed the participation of others. Remember Pilate said: He washed his hands of the farce - because he did not see any fault in Jesus. They had to have the participation of the Roman government because they were only a religious 'sect' and a race/creed of people - they didn't have any power - the Roman government was the power.

Actually, it was a combined effort. Rome governed Judea at that time but the Prelate, Pontius Pilate, gave the population a choice in who to crucify: a man called Barabbas, or Jesus. Strange enough Barabbas' first name was Jesus, too. The Jewish populace chose Jesus Christ. But it was also pre-ordained in traditional Christianity. So no reason to punish anyone, really. The whole event only fulfilled the prophecy.

No one took the life of Jesus. He gave His life for us,for forgiveness of our sins...OUR sins...
What comes to choices here on the earth, we have many choices. But what comes to the eternal life; there are only two choices, hell and heaven. You choose.
Jesus is the way and the truth and the life, no one will enter to heaven except through Him.
