Well, didn't we go to war to capture weapons of mass destruction? (oops! They didn't have any!)... Um, um, um, to capture Saddam? (Uh.. captured!). OK... we're going to bring democracy to Iraq (Jeez, didn't work in Viet Nam either). Besides, when the hell was Iraq ever a democracy to begin with? I wish that the American War Machine would give up on the idea that we're the world's policemen! No wonder everybody hates us! We can't mind our own G-D business. Gasoline is ridiculous. There's no good reason on the planet why we should have as many homeless people as we do (did you know that nearly 1/3rd of this nations homeless are VETERANS... that ain't going to bode well for all of the Iraq war veterans now, is it??? WAKE UP AMERICA!!! Start caring for your own. Let the rest of the world rot! They don't want us anyway! (Well, they want our money I suppose).

Boy bubbly really bought the whole thing!!!! The intelligent thinking people in this country do know that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. And you are right the Bush's have all kinds of oil interests in Saudi and are not about to rock that money boat!! All of the terrorists on 9/11, well OK 90%, were Saudi. Osama is a Saudi. Osama operates out of Afghanistan. If the pro Bush faction can't figure this out, then one must question their intelligence. I've just finished reading some of the rantings in these answers and I just don't understand it. Can't the people who, for whatever reason, support Bush at least learn to communicate intelligently.

I am not a bush lover or war lover. Iraq was not directly responsible for 9-11 and I have never heard that said. The reason Iraq was invaded was they repeatedly ignored the UN. At the end of the 1st gulf war they agreed to certain conditions that they rejigged on. Also, Sadam was known to support any group that wanted to harm the US. That has been proven and one of the groups he supported in a big way was Al Quida

We will all monitor your promise to make this the last time you ask this bone question.

Yes we are all aware of that. We know that it was Saudi and Egyptian members of Al Queada who were trained in the camps in Afghanistan.

But...and this is disturbing, read some of the answers from people who are trying to agree with you!

It is distrubing how stupid and gullible some people really can be.

Lots of stuff about oil (wrong...Iraqi oil goes to France, Germany and Russia), the usual hateful rantings about Bush and Suadi business interests.

But the highlight is the one about Bush setting up 9/11 to provoke the war. Does anyone really think that an operation as complex as 9/11 could have been organised in the few short months Bush had been in governement, including making sure that EVERYONE in the CIA, NSA, Airline industry, Military, and other Western intelligence agencies were on board and sworn to secrecy?

If that could possibly have been the case then Clinton and his government would also have to have been in on it!

Kind of spoils the taste if it wasnt just Bush doesnt it?

I'll tell you why we are there.....remember when the former president Bush went to Kuwait and Saddam sent an hit man to kill him??? It's personal. Bush and his people knew Saddam had no VMD. If they want to use the fact that Saddam had an oppressive government as a reason, then why didn't we go into North Korea instead??? They have dealt with the same for much longer and the Korean dictator is much more dangerous to the world than Saddam could have been if he lived to be 200 years old.

You should do your home work befor asking stupid questions! No one said that Iraq attact us on 9/11. We are fighting Al Quida(sorry can't spell in arabic).Authenticated messeges from Bin Laden are urging these forces to keep fighting the coalition forces in Iraq. For your small mind "coalition" means the U.S. and our partners.Coalition forces have found Mustard and nerve gas weapons.Yes, they are pre 1991 weapons that the U.N. said Hussein must destroy. He didn't. I could go on,but without a proffesor's pay I cannot continue to educate the ignorant.Besides your mind's made up.

Of course Iraq didn't do 9-11. That is not what this war is about!

Why can't you understand this.

We aren't there for the reason Bush said we went . That's been proven .
Did he invade Iraq and called it a war , so Congress would let him have more executive power's . Without Congress knowledge , he has taken more and more power away from them and given it to himself . That is against the Constitution , ( just another G.. D... piece of paper ) , the one he swore to uphold .

Yes, I'm aware of that ... don't know why so many people think the war in Iraq is justified ... I think mainly because they have some weird idea that just because you're anti the war, you're also anti the troops ... which is far from the truth!
