Sadly, whoever is better economically tied to us. That's how the United States has picked sides before, with Iran and Iraq and back in 'Nam and the days leading up to Communist China. It doesn't matter who is right or who is wrong, it's who's the better partner to us. And that's unfair. It's like having a friend of your steal candy away from a kid who earned it and because the person is you're friend, you side with your friend inside of the poor kid whose candy was stolen from. You think, your friends has a reason for taking the candy. The little kid got what he deserved. Which is what the United States' attitude is. Real sad.

Canaan is Israel plus the West Bank, and some of Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. I don't know what you mean.
If your asking if the US would support Israel over the Palestinians, that boat has left the dock. If your asking me if the US would support Israel or an 18th century confederation of city-states I would guess Israel.
