Hi all
I just wanted a few opinions on this topic. I am not being racist or anything, so I don't want anyone chewing on my ear, or calling up the race card.
I am currently dating a chinese girl, I am Indian, although I am not your typical Indian. i.e I am very westernised in appearance and beliefs having been brought up in the UK for the past 22 years.
We are both getting on really well and I really like her. The only thing that concerns me is that she mentioned going to China with her at the end of the year. Obviously, I am not white, but tanned, and I dont ever recall seeing a chinese girl with an indian guy before, ever.
Do you think this will cause any problems in China ? Will I get lots of dodgy looks? how will other chinese weomen react towards me ?
I would be really interested to hear from any chinese females out there on this topic.

I feel great about it! I really don't mind interracial dating. I think its beautiful when people can express their feelings and not bow to the status que placed on us by society. People forget the cultures of their country and so it seems, there isn't what they would describe a "problem" with this situation, They choose not to address it, well the "problem" is people being color blind, to the specifics of the word, BLIND TO THE COLORS AROUND YOU. They are unwilling to accept them and hence they are not there or you are blind to them. I don't believe in color blindness, its ignorance, it needs to change, be aware of the wonderous variety around you and accept it. I Think its extremly interesting to learn about other people's ways of life. I think its really sad that people of any race can simply 'dis' others becuase they are of any color.

First, my hats off to you. You have beat the biggest of odds. In the 35 years loving in my community I have never, ever seen an Asian with a Middle Eastern person or a Hispanic for that matter. And only 5 time have I seen Asian with African American. It is always white with Asian, almost more than Asian with Asian.
I hope you do not get slighted looks and under breath comments but I think you best prepare that you will here some. Or get looks. You would think that here a country formed from immigrants that people blending would not be an issue. But it still is.
I once gave a necklace to a Japanese girl who worked in the library at college because I considered her a friend and she was also cute. She didn't come to school the day of her birthday but I knew where she lived. You would think her people seen a ghost when they seen me at the door(oh, I am Af Am). When she was not working there the next semester I asked what happen to her and if she was still in school someplace. One girl said her parents rushed her back to Japan for some reason.
So hope for the best, but expect the worst. And good luck. You did it. You broke through the rice ceiling.

I'm white, and my bff is Chinese, and we're American. We were just talking a few weeks ago about how we've seen 8 or so Indian guy with Chinese girl. So, it is not totally uncommon in NYC. She's invited me to go to China next summer and she warned me that people are kind of xenophobic there. Of course, maybe they'd react differently to Indian people. Good luck.

Yes, the Chinese aren't as scared and politically correct about races as the Americans. No one is. Just ignore those people and you'll be fine.

if you two are happy who cares what it looks like your not in it to please anyone but you 2 so have fun with it untill it runs out hopefully it never does
