Wouldn't Jesus say that it's people like J-P Satre and Vladimir Putin who need him the most?

And wouldn't he attack the Evangelicals for being so judgemental of everyone around them? Has Matthew 7 been added to the Apocrypha or what?

Well let’s see… Jesus said of the original Pharisees that they loved the chief seats in the synagogues, (check) * prayed in long prayers in public to attract attention, (check) * loved the praise of men more than God,(check)* fasted often and put on a sad countenance, (check) *wore long colorful garb to draw attention to their office, (check)* robbed money from the poor widows, (check) * robbed God, * (check) were hypocrites, (check) * were pious, (check) * persecuted the true believers, (check) * were covetous, (check) * were the sons of the devil. (check)

Hmmm…. I don’t know, all the evidence isn’t in yet; so the jury is still out and the Judge hasn’t yet passed sentence. But I hear He’s coming soon and He’s Righteously peeved. If judgment truly begins in the House of God, as the Scripture states, I’m not sure it’s the safest place to be.

No-the religious right believe in God. Never heard of J P Satre. Putin could use a dose of Jesus. He would be behind the judgmental evangelicals. Jesus only attacked religious people, never the lost. I don't understand your remark about Matthew 7.

No, the religious "right" are frequently trying to bring people to Christ. The idea that some people need Jesus more than others is judgment in itself. I don't know what Jesus would do since he frequently surprised people by doing unexpected things. As for the Matthew verse if you read on it says that how you judge is how you will be judged, not an indictment against judging in general, for example if you hold homosexuals to the old testament standard, instead of new testament which says all sexual immorality is equally bad (sodomy the same as straights going to strip club) then you have to keep kosher and keep the whole law yourself.
I hope this answers your question.

A huge chunk of modern Christianity would be comparable to the Pharisees.

Any Christian focusing their energy on what PEOPLE do instead of what CHRIST did and said, would be considered a modern day Pharisee.

Does that sound like anybody around here?

Well anyone who quotes that law of the bible without the new commandment of Love one another could be considered a modern day Pharasee.

They were simpley men whom followed the law of moses and were looking so closely at the tree(sin) that they forgot all about the forest promised to them.

Anytime you take one part of the bible and use it to hurt another, you are committing the very act that the entire bible tells you not to do. This is not to say that we are not to reveal anothers sin or sins to them. We just must do it in a way that reveals that we are aware that we are all sinners, but this person might not be aware of the sin in their life, so we let them know , and move on, not rub it in (so to say)

My example is David, a man after GODs own heart, David was living in such sin and could not see his own, even after the prophet explaned the situation to him, david replied, who is this man?, I will have him brought in and punished. The prophet had to tell him point blank that it was himself(david) that he was describing. Then and only then, did david realize the absolute pickle he was in and repent and pay the price for his sin. (Jesus was not here yet, david still had to atone for his sin)

This story lets us know that we are not to sit back and watch another sin in the open. Just remember that if someone is busy telling you your sins and has an air of sinlessness about them, back away and find someone else to listen to.

Have you ever read the "Joshua " series of books. They are very informative and touch on topics such as your question.
Peace and Love.
