Hi, Well if she is a good girl then it won't be a problem, in the first few weeks she will have to adjust to the teachers styles and she will meet lots and lots of new friends. And I seen those trendy people too.

Don't let your daughter start wearing alot of makeup PLZ! I can't tell you how many times I've looked at a girl and thought she was like 19 because she had on so much makeup, only to find out she was really 14. If she wants to wear makeup...keep it natural looking, not whorish looking. Middle school was horrible for me. That's when kids start getting attitudes and they can be really mean. She'll want to start going to school dances and she'll more than likely become really sociable with her friends and want to go to the mall or something with friends on the weekends or sleepovers or whatever. All these things will be fine as long as your daughter stays honest with you and you check with her friends' parents to make sure they're really gonna do what they say they're gonna do. Keep an open mind when your daughter asks you to do things and don't shut her out completely from doing some things. Doing so will drive her away and probably make her start lying. As long as you guys continue to stay close and honest, she should be fine.

Studies have shown that there is more peer pressure in middle school than high school. I put my girls into sports to try to keep their self esteems intact. I found kids in middle school to be vicious to each other when it comes to clothes, hairstyle. and the emergence of tight clicks. Keep outside activities in mind and be a soft place to land if there are social difficulties. 13 was a terrible period for both. Don't give up. This too will pass.School uniforms do actually help decrease the image pressure. It's obvious you love her. Middle school is a weird world, but it can be dealt with. Have a nice day.

You should expect your daughter to have a lot more homework than she had in elementary school! You are probably in charge of buying her clothes, so if there is something you don't want her to wear, just don't buy it. Do allow her to be fashionable because she will want to fit in with the rest of the kids. Just don't allow anything too slutty or outrageous.
Also, get to know her friends and where they live, their phone numbers and if possible get to know the parents. Give your daughter some freedom, but know where she is and who she is with and communicate.

besides adjusting to a new environment, be alert to her attitude and habits. She will want to fit in and in my own remembrance of middle school and then now of my sibilings exiting that arena, girls are quite aggressive and often times cruel. Just be there along the way with her and make sure to talk to her about what is going on. girls usually mature much faster than the boys and they are going to show that in not only looks but in action. Watch out for them on IM

My son is getting ready to start middle school. I have a 10 year old daughter though and have to watch what she wears and how she dances, etc. These girls start young! I send both of you my best.

relax just a little. u raised her well, she wont 4get. there is alot of peer pressure out there. tell her to be true to herself and dont be temped by false friends. if she feels its wrong to do it, DONT. dont be to overpowering tho. give her space to try new things and if she messes up, then she has learned a lesson in life, like all of us do. laugh alot and always talk. put her first and let her know u have time for her. make lunch dates or a dinner out just the two of u. youll be ok.
