decide first if you want to be a decorator or a designer...big difference....you definately need school for designer (i'm in for it now)...

Go to college, talk to a counselor, take classes. Get ready to not make any money though your first year, unless you get a BA you cant work for a firm. If you have a certificate and an AA you can get a job at a furniture store or some kind of window shop, Home Depot's kitchen & bath section. Get the facts from someone in the business, bust out the phone book and do your homework.

First like everyone has said you are going to need to go to school...there are some really fun schools out there. Look up Interior design on the web and you'll find school. After you get the schooling you need then you can shop around seeing if anyone is hiring or you can start your own interior design business. I say start out with a friend put together a portfolio of your work...
