It takes no effort on their part and they can continue to exploit the Earth's resources.

I do not know any ultra conservatives who say this is ok. The bible says to go forth be fruitful and multiply . Being Fruitful means doing what is neccessary to make the land Fruitful. Now it may be that these people do not have the power to affect change and have given up. I think though we all should do our part of course alot of times what one person thinks is "doing his part" ends up hurting what others think of as "doing thier part" we bump heads a lot and are not all 100% sure as to just what is GOOD for protecting the earth. For instance we say lets use less fuel in ALL Things well that is GOOD correct? well what if you are a farmer? should you go back to plowing with a horse and wooden plow and harvest by hand? That uses less fuel doesn't it? but on the other hand you will waste MORE of the land that way and Hundreds of thousands will starve so we need to use the FUEL. Sometimes answers aren't as easy as we think.

well..The problem is that God himself is going to do a little destruction before the end.. Look at the below, it is just a sample of what is going to happen.. We talk about the meteor shower in 2012 could that be referring to this below??? Who knows.?
I am not against trying not to pollute, but people are going too far and not far enough in prepareing for their meeting with God. Save the whales, but abort the babies?? Not sensible to me..
Rev 8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
Rev 8:9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
Rev 8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
Rev 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

HEY! If you would read the Bible, you would know that God will eventually purge this sinful, evil world up by fire, then create a New Heaven and Earth. Since you will be dead alot longer than you will be alive, don't you think that it's way more important to make an decision that will determine you eternal destiny?
I do what I can to respect God's creation, but don't believe in worshipping Creation more than the Creator as is common today and foretold in Romans 1.
I also consider the murder of millions of innocent babies, in their Mother's womb, to be of much greater importance!
BTW : The Love of money is what drives the abortion industry! Be careful how you judge others, because by that same standard, you will be judged!

There are legitimate reasons that people need to believe very rigid ideas about life that give structure and meaning. For example, addicts benefit greatly from the 12 step programs because the steps guide the person through the sometimes horrible recovery and then a wonderful discovery process.
However, other people maybe quite comfortable in a world of seemingly endless or boundless possibilities.
However, I think the core of it is that life takes us all through periods of personal turmoil and even disintegration and then hopefully periods of healing and reconsolidation.
Sometimes the hard parts require that we gather ourselves and take account of our lives, make adjustments, acquire new healthier habits, and then move on to hopefully greener times and purer waters.
When we are at the top of our game, it seems so easy, but when we enter the darker valleys of life, it seems so hopeless.
So, I think it does come down to reciprocity, understanding and patience with ourselves and others as far as possible, and for several miles beyond.

Don't kid yourself. It's not just conservative who pollute the enviroment. I saw one of the Kennedy idiots ranting on about SUVs. When he was asked, he had to admit that he flew to NY for the interview in a private plane. The problem comes down to what type of pollution do we cut back on, YOURS or MINE. Conservatives want to keep industry and the economy moving while finding sensible ways to reduce emissions. Liberals want to protect the enviroment at the cost of closing down American industries. They ignore the fact that the industries would simply move to other countries where there would be even less enviromental protection. Since liberals have not come up with any way to control China and other countries, their rhetoric should be seen as nothing more than political grandstanding. They don't want to solve the problem. Instead they prefer to keep the issue alive for political purposes.

Yes ...I think the Republican Party found a real marriage with the Christian Right there ... Why be custodial towards the resources that need and should exist for your children and grandchildren,wave your hands in the air and pollute like ya just don't care ... Lindsey and ilk have a rapture coming ... some of us aren't too excited about that bus though ...
Fine point!... and fine thinking !

They actually believe that by stripping the earth of its resources, they speed Armageddon.
They may be right, but this version of Armageddon will not be the one they signed up for. In this one, ultraviolet rays force the entire human race indoors until global warming melts the polar ice cap, drowing 3/4 of the human race.

It has been my personal experience that religeous people tend to only pay attention to the scriptures that suit them, not to the bible in whole...hence the different sects(lutheran, methodist, etc.)they also completely skip the one's about not judging, only God can judge...they tend to be the most judgemental, I don't know why...

Do ultra right-wings want you to stop buying gas-guzzling cars? Do they want you to stop using gas and use hydrogen or ethanol? Of course not, they run those businesses, and they'd rather make a dollar today than a better world tomorrow

They can not read very well. They tend to listen blindly to certain speakers. It is much easier to listen to some else than to read and study and contimplate our own spirtual self.
We are told to care for all that is here, but they rather just give to money to some fancy speaker that promises them glory.
