Well, with the cost of living increasing and the fact that you are performing more services for the family, I think you are shortchanging yourself if you don't demand at least $10 / hr. You can undoubtedly get this from another household, so I think it is only fair that you get what you are worth. The family should understand that and, if they don't want to lose you, they should more than understand your request.

Ok. My friend just got a job working as nanny for 2 five year old twins for 12 dollars an hour. She is 24 years old. This might help give you somewhat of a range. I'd say somewhere between 10 and 12 is reasonable depending on the children and their ages.

I think it depends no how much house cleaning you are doing. Some house cleaning comes along with being a nanny. My roommate is a nanny, and she gets 8 dollars an hour. House cleaning is part of her requirements.

I'd say $15/hr is fair when you're cleaning. When ur just babysitting NOT cleaning I'd charge the $7/hr. So what you could do is bring a note pad and write down from what time till what you cleaned (example: 10am-12:30pm) so that way you are honest and im sure they would understand the system.

I would say, ask for $9 an hour - if you ask for 10, it's $3.00 raise an hour and anywhere you work at it's hard to get a big raise like that. Ask for 9 and tell them it's negotiable.

Stop being a nanny and become a hooker, I bet they make twice the money you do.
