That's hard to say, because I don't think there is any one casino that is tops in terms of all the facets of a casino/hotel. If you want affordability, location, and a nice casino, then some of the casinos near the Southern end of the strip would suit your purposes, like MGM, NY NY, Monte Carlo, or Excalibur. They're all a little on the family side and there's lots of little shopping places and you'll see tons of kids, which can kill the atmosphere if you're there for an "adult" good time rather than a Disney-esque G-rated experience.

Bellagio and Venetian are wonderful, but it's with a price and you have to have some cash to enjoy the various things offered at the resort/casino areas.

The Palms and the Rio both have their strong points up and down the board, but they're both off-strip and that can be a sore spot for some people.

Personally, I've liked staying at the Aladdin and I think Paris is both affordable and offers a lot of great dining options for a relatiively low price. The only knock on Paris was that there wasn't a poker room, or at least there wasn't one the last time I was there, but it connects with Bally's and Bally's has a poker room.

If it's your first time, stay at Paris, because it's essentially in the middle of the strip, you're across the street from the water shows at the Bellagio fountain, and the food options are incredibly affordable for a first time visit. The Creperie is great for breakfast, too. Pretty decent selection of slot machines and table games, decent table limits.

Check out www.cheapovegas.com for a pretty extensive list of casinos and there high and low points.

You might want to check out the customer reviews on a site like Expedia.com.

Keep in mind that hotels like the Wynn and Bellagio are quite amazing, but everything is going to be more expensive. The table minimums are higher than something a little less luxurious.

You really have to consider what your gambling and spending budget is and what kind of things you want to do while in Vegas.

So the question is best asked as which is the best casino FOR YOU. Do some pricing and see what budget you can afford and then read what people have written about the casinos you have narrowed it down to. Remember that the more expensive the casino the more money you will need to budget for the trip.

That depends if you're going old-school or not. It also depends on what you mean by "best eats." Some people think the inexpensive buffets are "best," while some are talking about the full-service dining. But anyway ... Luxor (new-school) is sort of cheesy. I'm not too fond of it. Caesars Palace (old-school) is pretty cool and has good service. Excalibur is retarded, as is the MGM Grand. Too family-ish and grody. I haven't been to Bellagio but would love to--it sounds like the bomb, especially with the art collection. The Golden Nugget has seen better days. The Mirage is pretty old-school and yet still right up there with style. God love the Flamingo, an old-school fixture, but it's sort of covered in cheese too. I think your best bets are Caesars and the Mirage. Their gaming, also, is more respectable, being not so steeped in the whole family-oriented, "theme-park" crap that has overrun Vegas lately.

Impossible to say which is best for you, and you did not even consider location in your list. You will want to stay on the strip, not downtown. Check reviews as has already been suggested. I like the Paris. Mirage also is very good. MGM is good but a little too big (kept getting lost in casino). If money is not a factor, consider the Bellagio, it is hard to beat as far as style and food.

Mandalay Bay is good but way down the south end. Places to avoid staying..the Tropicana and the Excelsior.

It completely depends on your interest. The Bellagio is probably the nicest. The Palms, even though its off the strip has a great nightlife. But the best bang for your buck location wise is Excalibur. Right in the middle of everything and its very cheap
