Not even people who believe in evolution believe this since the various species of monkey can be seen more so as cousins than direct decedents. I used to have a biology teacher say we are more closely related to starfish than monkeys. I do not think she or I really believed that, but anyway I got the point. In whatever the case I think evolution to be a reasonable perspective. And for the record believing in God and evolution are not mutually exclusive. God could have just as easily set things in motion as s(he) could have ***poof*** wallah everything has already been created. It seems to me that God would not create just a finite amount of life but create the avenues for an infinite number of forms to organically manifest themselves. Plus with all the extinctions there'd be barely any animals left by now if there wasn't room for growth. In the end it is not worth fighting about as how we morally treat one another including the rest of God's creation vastly more important. I do however remember a time when people were jailed amount other things for postulating that the world was flat.
P.S. After reading some of your comments I want to remind that even the bible states that for God a day is like a thousand years. People also thought Jesus meant the temple when he meant his body when he said, "I am able to destory the temple and rebuild it in three days" Be careful what you take literally. There are a lot of modern day pharisees running around.

First of all, it is said we evolved from Primates, not monkeys! They are two very different animals, believe it or not.
Secondly, my opinion is that of "Love of Truth" or whatever he's called. Both beliefs are NOT exclusive, as you can believe in both, such as in assisted evolution. I believe that God did set the stage in motion for many beings to come into existence, but did not actually create animals, like humans, out of nowhere. My belief is that God did set the stage for life to exist, but the rest took its own course, and life as we know it evolved from that, as one can see by the extensive evidence set forth by Darwin and other scientists. One cannot blindly deny this evidence, just as one cannot blindly deny God.
So my point is, both God and evolution played a part in the creation of what we call the human being. It shouldn't be either one or the other, but both. As the person I mentioned above said, one does not have to exclusively believe in one or the other, but one can believe in both, just as I stated.

that doesn't really answer the question at all. Seems that your thirst for knowledge only begins and ends with a single book.
There's a lot of evidence that support evolution and the approximate age of the earth. So, going based on tangiable evidence.....I'd say a monkey

Neither, I think we share a common ancestor With monkeys. I also think people should try reading Origin of the Species and not just listen to what their pastor/preacher/minister/whatever tells them.

We came from God. God came from monkeys. It's as simple as that.

We didn't come from monkeys, they are distant distant cousins. And yes we also came from God in the long run.

I came from my mom's belly.
I do think, though, that we did evolve from the primortial ooze to celled-organisims, and yes, primates. I mean, we do share about...what...98% DNA similarities?. Did you also know humans are also closely related to baking yeast? I forget the percentage, but we are (maybe that explains why so many people are fat now that global warming os going on?).
