You'd probably need a license, and have a health inspection of your kitchen. You could get away with it for friends, but doing it commercially could get you in trouble if you didn't have the proper documentation.

Depending on the state, you may not be able to do it at all from your regular kitchen.

Where I come from, Californina, the answer is a definite NO unless you have a separate commercial kitchen. You can,however, go to the person's house and cook, using their equipment.
