often times when trials come our way we(I) tend to focus on the problem rather than to realize..........someone elsewhere has it a lot worse.
I just want to encourage you all to be Thankful for the things that are going right. We should major in being optimistic?

Everyone could give a personal answer because of their upbringing and their values. I believe, the best approach is to be thankful anyway, since even bad times in life have an end. When I get over a period of difficulty, I feel relieved and feel happier not only because that difficulty is no longer, but most of all because it gave me the gift of patience, which is the ability to endure. Think about this: would complain help? would self-condemnation help? Either the problem was caused by ourselves or others, the great difference is made by keeping an attitude of peace and confidence. Always be happy of who you are and kind to yourself, even in difficult times. I believe that since we are human beings, in as much as we can do mistakes or bad choices, we have a gift other living beings do not have, which is the ability to love. Love generates consolation, happiness and peace. Isn't peace what we are looking for?

I AGREE THAT IT IS IMPORTANT TO FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE. ENCOURAGING SOMEONE WHO IS GOING THROUGH TOUGH TIMES TO DO SO THOUGH, MUST BE DONE WITH SENSITIVITY TO THEIR ISSUES. FOR EXAMPLE, MY DAUGHTER WHILE CARING FOR HER DYING FATHER (WHO WAS ONLY 50 WHEN HE DIED), ALSO FOUND OUT HER HUSBAND WAS CHEATING ON HER AND HAD BEEN FOR 2 OF THEIR 3 YEAR MARRIAGE. THIS GIRL NEEDED TIME TO CRY, SCREAM AND DO WHATEVER ELSE IT WOULD TAKE TO DEAL WITH THESE VERY SERIOUS ISSUES TAKING PLACE IN HER LIFE. THIS GIRL HAS THE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN FOR HOWEVER LONG IT TAKES TO GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON. WHICH INCIDENTLY SHE IS. SHE ALSO DID GET THERAPY WHICH IS WORKING FOR HER. SHE SMILES MORE AND EVEN HAS BEGUN TO LAUGH AGAIN.

I generally look for the lesson I'm supposed to be learning. Everything happens for a reason.

I don't whine if that's what you mean, I try to face the bad times till it passes away, then I get depressed happily.
