Initial Public Offering
A company's first sale of stock to the public. Securities offered in an IPO are often, but not always, those of young, small companies seeking outside equity capital and a public market for their stock. Investors purchasing stock in IPOs generally must be prepared to accept very large risks for the possibility of large gains. IPO's by investment companies (closed end funds) usually contain underwriting fees which represent a load to buyers.

Initial Public Offering.
It's when a private company sells stock to the public for the first time. That is, a company that was previously 100% privately owned is now selling part of itself to the public (through stock).
The reason that they do this is to use the public stock markets as a funding source instead of private sources like venture-capital banks.
UPDATE - oops, I see you placed your question in Electronics.
An IPOD is a hand-held device sold by Apple computer. It's used to hold electronic-stored music. You listen to the music using head-phones and you get the music by downloading from your computer and the internet, specifically from Apple's itunes online store. The devices use either small harddisks (larger models) or non-volatile silicon memory (smaller models) to store the music.

IPO stands for Initial Public Offering. Basically when a company "goes public", it sells stock. During an Initial Public Offering, the price is (usually) lower than when they actually start selling it to the general public.

I think you mean iPod. An iPod can store "x" amount of songs which are downloaded from a computer. The songs would be in mp3 format so that you can fit more songs than a regular audio file.
