Last week, Father Groeschel on EWTN answered a question from a caller who indicated that he was depressed. Father G. is a psychologist as well as a priest. I don't remember everything he said--however he did emphasize the importance of getting enough sleep. He said that people with depression should get 8 hours of sleep every night. He also said that people who suffer from depression should get out of bed as soon as they wake up in the morning--not linger in bed. He said lying in bed only makes the symptoms worse. He also said that getting physical exercise every day is very important for people with depression. These hints are things you can do to get yourself started.
Definitely find someone to talk to--and don't wait! Your Community Mental Health Center is a place to call. What about friends, family members, people you can trust in your faith community?
A friend told me once that "suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem." How true this is! Whatever you are dealing with, better things are ahead and God has a plan for you! You are on our prayer list!

If you smoke or drink, quit now...spend some serious alone time with a pen and paper to figure out how to get yourself out of this rut, and spend an equal amount of time around people that are a positive influence.
This all sounds cheesy but really, it's the healthiest way to get yourself back to where you want to be. After you figure yourself out, then you can get back to old habits and old friends. But for now, keep things fresh.
AND WORK OUT when you feel stressed! Somebody told me to do that and I thought they were crazy until I tried it. It really truly makes you feel better...and it's good for you!!

I hope that you consider your family and friends. Realize that if you do decide to "leave this place" you will hurt them and it will haunt them the rest of their days. I'm so sorry for what you are going through, while I haven't been exactly where you are I also have been in a very black hole that I wanted to "leave." This is what helped me, I made a decision to make my life better. That entailed contacting a doctor for medication and a counselor to help me analysis why I wound up in that hole. I also spend a lot of time journaling, I make myself make lists for things I am grateful for and things that I like about myself. I make myself write 10 things. One day one of my 10 things I was grateful for was peanut butter. It's small, seemingly insignificant, but true and it made me smile. There is so much beauty around you, I hope you make the choice to discover it.

Its only in your head that things are"so bad". Reality will get better, just give it time. Smoke some cannabis and you will instantly feel much better.
